I would not recommend these tires for a high performance car, as they are unstable at high speeds.

If you’re the kind of driver who likes to push the envelope a little and carve up twisty roads like a slot car, you know it’s about more than the car itself and your driving skills – you need a tire that’s capable and up to the job. Premium all-season tires can deliver great performance as far as braking, cornering, and steering response, but ultra-high-performance tires are what you really need for that extra edge of performance.
There are lots of UHP tire options on the market, including some very expensive ones, and the Atturo AZ850 is certainly a contender. It incorporates plenty of innovative performance-packed features for a tire that looks great and performs every bit as great as it looks. Don’t believe us? Let’s take a deeper dive with this Atturo AZ850 tire review:
Features and Benefits
As an ultra-high-performance tire, the AZ850 needs certain features that will allow it to perform at a high level.
- Softer, “stickier” tread formulation delivers strong braking and cornering capabilities
- Designed to resist heat buildup, which prevents uneven wear
- Two steel belts, jointless nylon cap ply, and high bead filler all contribute to high-speed stability
- Continuous center rib for straight-line stability along with quick steering response
- Asymmetric tread pattern with larger tread blocks toward shoulder for enhanced cornering ability
- Sipes, lateral grooves, and deep circumferential grooves channel water away to avoid hydroplaning and boost wet-weather traction
- Tread pitch is computer tuned for low road noise
- Great-looking low-profile design
Available in 18 to 22 inch sizes, the AZ850 comes with a V or Y speed rating and is backed by Atturo’s standard 3 year limited warranty.
Pros and Cons
Like many Atturo tires, the AZ850 has more strengths than weaknesses:
PROS:
- Good wet-weather and dry-weather traction
- Sharp, responsive handling, braking, and cornering performance
- Available in a wide range of sizes for various fitments
- Looks great on a variety of vehicles
That being said, the tire does have some drawbacks:
CONS:
- Cannot be used when temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees Fahrenheit
- Could be quieter
- No tread life warranty
SimpleTire’s view on Atturo AZ850 tires
There are so many options out there when it comes to UHP tires. The tires from top-tier manufacturers might deliver great performance, but they also tend to be pretty expensive. The Atturo AZ850 is a tire that comes across with the same strong handling, cornering, braking and steering response, but at a surprisingly low price point. It features an advanced tread compound and its rigid design helps with overall handling ability. The Atturo AZ850 doesn’t have a tread life warranty but it is covered by the manufacturer’s 3-year limited warranty against defects in manufacturing and workmanship.
It’s worth noting here that the Atturo AZ850 is categorized as an ultra-high-performance tire. The softer, stickier tread formulation of many UHP tires is designed for superb traction, but it will harden and lose grip in colder weather. This means tires like the Atturo AZ850 shouldn’t be used if temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Vehicles the Atturo AZ850 is a good replacement tire for
While not used as original equipment on any vehicles, the tire is a great replacement option for many of today’s most powerful CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks. If you drive an Acura MDX, BMW X5, Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Avalanche, Dodge Dakota, Ford Ranger, GMC Yukon, Infiniti QX4, Jeep Liberty, Lincoln Navigator, Nissan Frontier, Toyota 4Runner, or Volkswagen Touareg, then this is a tire you might want to consider.

These tires are DANGEROUS !! While they are great driving in all dry conditions, very smooth and balanced, this is NOT the case on a wet road. These tire should NOT be sold. Somebody will get hurt using these tires! The traction when the road is wet is comparative to ice being on the road ! I felt deceived. The salesperson spoke highly of these tires. I was misled and wish I would NOT have ordered these tires !!
This would be my second purchase and I have no complaints. Great customer service and prices. Will continue to order from site!
Good tires so far
Atturo AZ850 hands down is the best performance tire you can get without breaking your wallet. I had to replace all four tires on 2017 CTSV and if I replaced with the Michelin tires would have been closer to $2k just for the tires. Mind you the Michelins below 40 degrees would have you questioning your driving abilities. I paid less than $700 for all four tires and have been throughly impressed in all driving conditions with the exception of snow because I wouldn't drive the car in snow and we don't get snow where I live. But for the money you can't beat the value the tires handle great, zero road noise, even in the rain it takes a lot for these tires to lose traction and break loose and that's on a 650hp supercharged V8 sedan. Definitely wouldn't think twice about buying these tires again.
Tires make my Mustang feel planted and hold the road. Still Scratching my head because they are proced so good!!!
I put these on a 2010 Camaro with 525 horse to replace Nitto's. I have been impressed with the performance; they provide great traction. I would say they are a great value for the money.
Tires are horrible in wet conditions, lose traction very easily.
