Falken tires are produced within a large network of certified manufacturing plants, including locations in Japan, Thailand, and the U.S. (Buffalo, New York). One of their most popular tires, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, is best suited for drivers of pickup trucks, vans, and full-sized SUVs and it is your go to tire if you are looking for a tire that has long-lasting wear, proven snow traction, and strong wet weather performance that maintains consistent performance and appearance throughout the life of the tire.
Additionally, this tire is USTMA and TRAC qualified for the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Backed by a 55,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty on all sizes, Road Hazard, and 30-Day Ride Guarantee, this tire is engineered for adventure, any time and in any weather. But is the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tire the right tire for you? Let’s take a look in this Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tire review.
Features and Benefits
All-terrain tires are great for traction on all kinds of on- and off-road driving surfaces as they are more durable and better on unpaved roads because of their aggressive tread patterns and reinforced constructions. Fortunately, the Wildpeak A/T3W is also known for delivering an excellent performance in wear, winter, and wet weather conditions.
Let’s take a look at the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:
- Superior traction: The Wildpeak A/T3W features an aggressive upper sidewall that’ combined with offset shoulder blocks to protect the tire from rocks while providing additional off-road traction support.
- Deepest Tread depth in the category: The Wildpeak A/T3W has the deepest tread in its category, which provides long-lasting wear and boosts hydroplaning resistance throughout the tire’s life.
- Extremely Durable: The silica-based tread compound (silica tread compound) of this tire is molded into an optimized tread pattern that balances chip-and-tear resistance on coarse and off-road surfaces improving the tread life.
- High Torque support: 3D Canyon Sipe Technology supports the tread blocks under high torque conditions, aiding wear resistance while ensuring firm grip by biting edges on wet and light snow and ice conditions.
The tire features a black sidewall and provides great traction on dry and wet roads in addition to snow, as it is Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in moderate to severe winter weather conditions.
Pros and Cons
Before deciding to buy the Wildpeak A/T3W tire or not, let’s first drill down a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

While Falken makes a good claim about Wildpeak A/T3W tire’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

- Not ideal for use on icy surfaces
- Not available for use coupes, sedans, minivans, and some CUVs
SimpleTire’s view on Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires
If you drive a pickup truck, van, or full-sized SUVs, you can’t go wrong with Wildpeak A/T3W for strong on- and off-road traction. Additionally, it performs well on wet and wintery roads, as the tread is designed for longer wear so that drivers can stay on the trails and roads longer. This tire features a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol that makes it conquer severe snow conditions without sacrificing handling or performance. The heat diffusing technology in the lower sidewall is designed to dissipate heat when towing or hauling loads. Plus, a polyamide reinforcement ply is included for improved handling and high-speed capability.
Overall, this is an excellent tire that’s highly regarded in it’s segment and a great option if you’re also considering the Toyo Open Country A/T III. If you’re looking for a more affordable tire with a better warranty then the Nexen Roadian ATX might be the tire for you, but it does not perform or handle as well as the Wildpeak A/T3W.

Just purchased these tires a month ago but so far they are great. The handing on road in wet and snow has been improvement from my previous tires.
Here's my review: I recently purchased the Falken tires for my 2014 Toyota 4Runner Trail, and I'm extremely satisfied with their performance. Here's why: Pros: Excellent traction in wet and dry conditions Smooth handling and responsive steering Good durability and long tread life Cons: None to report Overall, I would highly recommend the Falken tires to anyone looking for a reliable and high-performance set of tires. The supplier has provided excellent customer service, and I'm looking forward to continuing to do business with them.
Love these for all seasons! I live in Maine so they handle different terrain. Great quality tires!
I only have about 700 miles on these tires. But I have driven in snow and rain and they haven't slipped a bit. They are very quiet and seem to be an excellent tire. But only time will tell. I had Goodyear duratrak tires on my 21 GMC Sierra before and these seem to be a significant upgrade over them.
While not a dedicated mud tire , the falken wild peak at/3w provides awesome traction in a variety of conditions. It does great in light mud and dirt trails , and on the streets
These tires have soft rubber that grip the road in dry weather and the tread pattern is great for wet roads as well. The tread pattern clears water easily and never have worries about hydroplaning. I have had them off road a bit and they handle pretty much any terrain. I would definitely purchase these tires again.
Replaced the stock OEM tires on my Ram 1500 after hydroplaning. I feel much more confident with these treads! Great handling on dry and wet conditions. Slightly noisier but completely acceptable.
Very great indeed
