  • Kenda Klever MT KR29

Based in Taiwan, Kenda Rubber Industrial Company has been manufacturing tires since 1962. It has been producing tires for bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, ATVs, commercial, lawn and garden, trailers, and industrial equipment from its facilities in China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Indonesia. The automobile tires from Kenda are available in different categories such as all-season, all-terrain, mud-terrain, highway, UHP, and racing. Among its sturdy mud-terrain tire lines, the Kenda Klever MT KR29 is a capable option.

Engineered for SUVs, Jeeps, and light trucks, the Klever MT KR29 offers solid performance in challenging off-road conditions of dirt, mud, gravel, and sand. To ensure consistent traction and performance, the large tread blocks come with Kenda’s DESB ridge that acts as a self-cleaner and ejects mud, rocks, dirt, and debris out of the tread. The large, open-shoulder design not only aids in quick removal of water, mud, and slush but also improves the cornering and gripping capabilities of the tire. Additionally, it comes with a wide range of size options extending from 16 to 22 inches.

So, how does it perform when put to test in the mud? Let’s find out in this Kenda Klever MT KR29 tire review.

    Features and Benefits

Mud-terrain tires are designed to offer superior traction over loose soil and mud. Usually, they feature deep grooves and large blocks for a strong grip and confident drive on tricky terrains. The Kenda tire promises to uphold the mud-terrain values along with a price cut.

    • Impressive mud performance – The large tread blocks and scalloped shoulder blocks, which are staggered, provide improved traction on loose or soft surfaces such as mud, dirt, and sand. The sturdy carcass offers solid resistance to uneven wear and punctures, snags, and tear. Also, the full-depth sipes within the tread blocks allow better traction in mud and snow.

    • Self-cleaning tread – Every Klever M/T tire comes with Kenda’s DESB (debris ejecting, suction breaking) ridges construction for consistent ejecting of mud, rock, and debris from the tread. This ensures continuous traction is maintained throughout the off-road driving. Whether it's water, slush, or mud, the wide grooves quickly channel it out to avoid the risk of hydroplaning and restore traction.

    • Improved durability – Engineered for a longer service life, the Kenda tire is developed with a special off-road cut and chip-resistant compound, which provides extra durability and more miles to its tread life. Meanwhile, the extra deep grooves extending into the sidewall not only help in extracting optimum performance but also safeguard the sidewall from any type of damage.

Drive lots of highway miles then off road. Live in the mountains. Truck is a f350 with camper on back. Only used for travel and camping, all year long. Great all around tire, really good in the mountains off road. Not too noisy on the highway. Does hold rocks from gravel roads.

Great ride. Road noise is quieter than I expected. Handle great on and off road. Dry and wet handling are also great. Have yet to get stuck in mud downside is your truck will get dirty from mudslinging but it looks cool.

These tires ran good dry and held up great. Pulled when needed in the mud. I didn't find the noise bad, though I do listen to my music loud. Even with the windows down they were fine.
